Elf Cosmetics: Jelly Pop

Elf Cosmetics is for every eye, lip and face. The brand has been around since 2004 and they have not stopped disappointing its buyers since the creation of their first collection. I've always seen Elf as a cosmetics brand who aim for the more natural look, yet they're upping their game with new collections here, there and everywhere! They've certainly caught my eye recently as they're bringing the 2004 vibes back honey with the style of packaging they've created for their new Limited Edition Jelly Pop collection and I'm LIVING for it!

The cosmetics brand values itself as a a cruelty-free brand as all of their formulas are 100% vegan and no animal testing is carried out during the creation of their products. It also states on their website that all of their products are free from phthalates, parabens, nonylphenol ethoxylates, triclosan, triclocarban, and hydroquinone which is always a plus!

Elf certainly stepped their PR packaging up with the delivery of the new collection coming in it's own mini-fridge (that's certainly not something you see everyday)! I'm guessing it's something to do with the cooling sensation when applying the jelly products to your skin; especially the facial wash, moisturiser and primer? I'm also now intrigued if the products would change their quality if left in a hot area over time, would they melt or go sticky (I feel a new trend coming along in the YouTube world and I don't think I can be bothered with it)?

WATERMELON JELLY CLEANSER £8

The first product I was excited to try from the collection was the Jelly Pop Watermelon Cleanser, the reviews of this have been amazing with the smell being described as 'good enough to eat'. It's great as it can be used all over the face and eyes to melt away stubborn makeup and cleanse the skin. It's also infused with "skin-loving" ingredients Watermelon extract and Vitamin B5.

I found this to be more of a gentle cleanser, I usually use a scrub and cleanser alongside each other so without the scrub I don't think I truly got down deep enough to unclog my pores entirely.

WATER GEL MOISTURIZER £8

The next product from the collection that I tried was the Jelly Pop Water Gel Moisturiser, it's infused with watermelon and Castor Oil which gives it the moisturising quality. As it has a unique gel to liquid texture, it allows quick absorption into the skin for a boost of instant hydration. On the website they also advise it can be used under makeup or alone for an au-natural glow which I'm yet to try but am looking forward to trying out on it's own.

This moisturiser is perfect for my combo skin, I'm more on the oily side and have a hard time finding a moisturiser that doesn't make my face look like an oil slick till this bad boyyy came along.

DEW PRIMER £10

The next item from the collection is the Jelly Pop Dew Primer, with it's unique gel texture working like glue, your makeup will not be moving anytime soon! It's also advertised to be packed with skin-loving ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, along with a powerful blend of antioxidants leaving your skin looking and feeling its best.

My favourite part about this collection is the strong watermelon candy fragrance which I find mesmerising (literally like shoving my face in a ball of candy floss). This primer absorbs very easily and as I blend the product in with my fingertips it feels tacky yet it sets to a very smooth finish that feels sooo soft.

FACE & EYE GLOSS £6

The next products as part of the collection are the Face & Eye Glosses which come in two colours, "Icy Pop" which has a white & gold duo-chrome finish and "Creamsicle Pop" which has a pink & peachy gold duo-chrome finish. The shimmer is jaw dropping and perfect for that glass skin glow, I find that using the Jelly Pop Cleanser, Moisturizer and Primer definitely set me up well for this product as a little goes a long way and doesn't lose it's touch throughout the day!

What I love about these types of products are you can use 1 product for 2 different parts of your routine. Now I'm not saying it's bad to experiment with liquid lipsticks as eyeliners and so on but I love the choice it gives you to experiment in a way that its been tested and confirmed as safe to do so.

FLUSH BLUSH £6

The next products as part of the collection are the Flush Blushes which come in two colours, "Peach Pop" which gives a warm glow to the skin and "Berry Pop" which gives the skin a flush of life. My initial attraction to these was due to the consistency of the product itself and the healthy glow they give to the skin.

I love to wear a glimmering colour on the cheeks when going bare-faced to give my skin a natural looking glow or you can add them lightly on top of a full face for a sickening glass-like glow when going full glam; you can use however much suits your needs for that particular look and thats the best quality to have when being a blush.

JUICY GLOSS £5

The last products featured in the Jelly Pop collection is the Juicy Glosses which come in 4 different colours called "Watermelon Pop", "Grape Pop", "Cherry Pop" and "Apricot Pop".

This lipgloss feels and looks like no other I've tried in this price range before, especially as it's not sticky in the slightest! It's infused with lip hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, avocado oil, castor oil and coconut oil. This cushiony gloss gives your pout a shiny, sheer pop of colour whilst sticking with the theme and hydrating them to the max.

This collection has certainly changed my perspective on Elf Cosmetics as these products stand out from the crowd, my favourite one has to be the primer as I have seen a major change in the way my foundation sets into my skin and it looks and feels amazing. I would highly recommend these products and I will definitely be keeping an eye out on Elf Cosmetics for new, up and coming collections in the future.
