NYX: Bare With Me

Feels like nothing, looks like everything! NYX Professional Makeup has always been a brand close to my heart, with affordable yet great quality makeup, it is a go-to for when I’m in need of a quick fix! Since being founded in 1999, NYX has become a social media pioneer and is one of the most influential and top-ranked brands out there in the beauty community.


Last month NYX changed the makeup world by solving the much needed equation of makeup + hemp oil + afforable-ness, thus creating their Bare With Me range for the greater good. The collection contains not primers and setting sprays, but also foundations and cheek tints; NYX just took us to a whole new level of 'shooketh'.


A crucial part in their plan is that the collection contains cannabis sativa oil, not CBD. The products don't contain any THC or CBD, the more famous cannabis derivatives. Instead, cannabis sativa seed oil is derived from the hemp plant. It's a natural oil that can help soothe and moisturise the skin.


Hydrating Jelly Primer £15

The first product of the collection is the ‘Hydrating Jelly Primer’, it hydrates the complexion and softens the appearance of pores for a bright, fresh-looking glow. By having a water-based formula, it creates an even base for smooth makeup application which is always a must when it comes to ‘no-makeup’ makeup. The primer is also infused with skin-loving ingredients such as cucumber and aloe extracts so that this multipurpose gel leaves your complexion feeling soft and refreshed.

Hemp Radiant Perfecting Primer £12

The next product in the collection is the 'Hemp Radiant Perfecting Primer', this product is definitely one of my favourites so far and has the qualities I've been looking for in a primer with it's benefit of giving 24 hour hydration.


It's infused with hemp-derived cannabis sativa seed oil and centella asiatica extract which are key ingredients for soothing the skin, alongside it having a lightweight texture, this primer preps your face perfectly whilst also blurring imperfections. NYX have made an amazing blend of ingredients into a universal tone in order for it to blend into the consumers complexion and give them a radiant, revitalised glow.

Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Lip Conditioner £6

This next product may be your new go-to gloss (it's certainly mine for the price point). The 'Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Lip Conditioner' is a lightweight lippie with ingredients such as hemp-derived cannabis sativa seed oil, centella asiatic extract, rosehip oil, almond oil and jojoba oils which all help to hydrate and soothe those worn out pouts of the world.


I suffer from dry, cracked lips a lot of the time as I constantly forget my lip balm or just skip my lips all together on those 'can't be arsed' days; this is a gift from God. This product alone has saved my lips from cracking and I have already stocked up for these upcoming Autumn and Winter months; I can't recommend this product enough!

Tinted Skin Veil £10

Since being released in August, I have not picked up or used a foundation, the 'Tinted Skin Veil' is all I need. This is not a foundation. It is a weightless formula blended to create a super light coverage product with infusions of aloe to provide ultra hydration to the skin. With the veil available in 12 shades to accommodate a wide range of skin tones, this product feels like a second skin! It delivers up to eight hours of hydration which is a tick in all the right boxes for me, certainly my favourite item from the whole collection!

Hydrating Cheek Tint £9

This next product is a must have in my makeup bag as I'd look dead without it (as pale as the Milky Bar kid). The 'Hydrating Cheek Tint' comes in 3 shades called "Creative Cleanse", "Detox Me" and "Do Me Right", these sheer and ultra-lightweight shades each come in a portable stick giving you the easy application needed for such a look of post-workout flush- minus the sweat! The formula is infused with essential aloe and cucumber and blends easily onto cheeks for a diffused glow that leaves skin hydrated for up to 8 hours!

Hemp Brow Setter £7

Because of its many talents, the 'Brow Setter' is the perfect eyebrow product that makes it easy to prime, groom and set your brows into a number of on-trend looks, from soft and natural to firm and dramatic. Having sparse brows myself, this product definitely helps to thicken and set them into place; there's no moving once you've coated them with this work of art.


Whether you use it to prime and condition your brows before filling them in or even just on its own, this lil beauty is a must have to tame those brows.

Prime. Set. Refresh. Multitasking Spray £10

I've always shied away from multipurpose sprays as I've not had much luck with them in the past, but this gem has certainly turned my head 360 degrees; the 'Prime. Set. Refresh. Multitasking Spray' is a whole new level of perfection in my makeup routine. Infused with aloe and cucumber extracts, my sensitive skin was covered smoothly all day. This multipurpose mist gives skin a dewy glow, minimises the appearance of pores, and provides up to 8 hours of hydration; what can be better than that? (Nothing, it's a rhetorical question)

After trying out NYX's new collection, I find that my skincare and makeup routine may need a review to get some of these in there full-time. My favourite product of the collection by far has to be the 'Tinted Skin Veil' as it has helped me avoid breakouts with sensitive problem areas and has also grown my confidence immensely when going out and about with just a thin layer applied. I certainly won't miss coming downstairs to my parents and them asking where I put the garden trowel after I used it to do my foundation.
