I've always struggled to find a set skincare routine that works well for my skin, my skin is easily agitated so I have to be careful when using a mix of products, especially strong scented ones that smell like the inside of a Lush store. I have a combination skin-type, with an oily T-zone yet the rest of my face is as dry as the jokes I'll try and slot in here every now and again, it makes it very hard to find the right range of products.

A lady in my previous workplace introduced me to the world of Tropic Skincare and showed me the catalogue they provided for her as a representative. I liked the look of a lot of the stuff such as the 'Summer Goddess Shimmering Body Oil' for laying by the pool and also the 'Awaken the Senses Luxury Body Oil' which just sounds like a dream, yet the price tag was a bit high for my budget when working in a contact centre.
Since hearing of the brand, within a matter of weeks I had seen a lot of publicity and advertisements on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, showing me the range of products and also telling me about the background of the brand. After looking through the reviews on various pages and continuously debating whether I really needed to spend £54 on skincare (sorry Mum), I decided to buy the 'ABC Skincare Collection' which was one of the top-rated, best-sellers on the website. Plus it was on offer to come with a free face scrub, so I couldn't go wrong; I swear offers and discounts is the way to break me.

It came within a matter of days in a lovely bright, colourful bag and everything was individually wrapped in a soft plastic film with the name of each product labelled on the outside.
When I got it home, I ran a hot bath with a glass of cheap rosé from Tesco (keep in mind, I'll spend £54 on skincare, but £4 is certainly my limit on alcohol) and put some relaxing tunes on. The steam opened up my pores nicely, as I felt like I was sat in the lava of a volcano, I decided to start the new skincare routine.
Face Smooth Brightening Polish £15

To begin with, I used the 'Face Smooth Brightening Polish' which came free with my ABC Collection, the smell instantly reminded me of sweets as they use macadamia oil, this is used to soften and hydrate the skin. I wet my face and applied a small pea-size amount to my T-zone as I am prone to blackheads and buildups of sebum throughout the day. Although it doesn't use micro-beads like usual facial scrubs, I felt like this was reaching further into my pores than any other scrub I've ever used before. I then rinsed my face using the Bamboo Cloth they provide within the collection, now this was super soft, I even use it now for removing my makeup too and it's so easy to just stick in the washing machine, it comes out smelling fresh every time.
Clear Skin Blemish-Fighting Mask £20

It was then onto the 'Clear Skin Blemish-Fighting Mask', the pot was a lot smaller than I was expecting it to be for the price yet after using this now for over a year continuously, I can see that a little goes a long way. I had forgotten to order the brand's own 'Mask Spatula' so I decided to use a clean foundation brush instead which worked just as well (me not wanting to spend £6 on a spatula). The smell of the mask hit me straight away, it smells very fresh and the texture is just so smooth, making it so easy to apply to my trouble areas.
"This spot-busting mask helps to control sebum levels, reduce redness and manage breakouts quickly and effectively by tightening pores. Created specially for acne and blemish-prone skin, this is a hero product for those who suffer from excessive oil production and a shiny T-zone."
And it certainly does just that! On the skin it feels so fresh and a little tingly when settling down but the results are just amazing, I was not expecting it to actually do its job after trying so many face masks over the years that claim to achieve the same results yet don't come close to the experience of using this little beauty. Once this had dried down I removed it with the Bamboo Cloth and rinsed the cloth thoroughly to avoid staining it bright green, I would not be happy with myself. My skin felt like it had had a complete face lift, it felt tight on my forehead, it was super smooth and the redness around my affected areas had completely calmed down to a neutral tone.
Smoothing Cleanser Complexion Purifier £16

To remove the excess of the previous two products, I began to apply the 'Smoothing Cleanser Complexion Purifier' which was like butter between my fingers. I applied 2-4 pumps into my hands and applied all over my face and neck in circular motions to increase blood flow to the area, this went on so easily and melted into my skin to give it that 'baby's bottom' feeling. I then rinsed using the cloth and dried my face with a soft towel ready for the next step.
Vitamin Toner Pore Refining Mist £14

Now it came to the satisfying part, the 'Vitamin Toner Pore Refining Mist' which felt like fairy dust being sprayed all over your super soft, baby-arse face. I sprayed a few spritz's to my face and neck generously to let the moisture sink into my skin as I have trouble with dry skin.
Skin Feast Nourishing Cream Concentrate £24

And finally to finish off my new skincare routine, I used the 'Skin Feast Nourishing Cream Concentrate' to deeply moisturise my skin, I definitely was not feeling as rough as I was the next morning (that's the dodgy rosé for you), my skin felt rejuvenated and well-nourished, I felt like a new woman.
Overall, my experience using these products for the first time was better than expected, and since purchasing these products for the first time last year, I have continued to purchase refills and new lines that the company launch. I find the brand to be well presented, their message certainly shines through in the value of their products being "freshly made, natural, cruelty free". I have found that my skin has certainly improved since using these products, I will continue to use my favourites till the dawn of time such as the 'Clear Skin Blemish-Fighting Mask' as I can't resist the feeling my skin is in after my routine. Even if you don't end up taking a look at their website or investing in their products, just please promise me you won't buy dodgy bottles of cheap wine, it's not worth it!
